The technology company VIER has taken over authensis AG.

Last updated: 30.06.2025 13:00

With the acquisition, VIER is expanding its own cloud-based portfolio with attractive on-premise solutions and can also offer hybrid solutions.

authensis develops and sells contact center systems for inbound and outbound use. Based in Munich, the company, which was founded in 2000, primarily has customers with a focus on logistics, insurance and market research, including companies such as Deutsche Bahn, mhplus BKK and Heidelberg University Hospital. The company has been managed by Stephan Schopf since 2020.

"With this acquisition, we are now able to offer our customers on-premise technologies in addition to leading contact center and AI solutions from the cloud, or combine these with the cloud", explains VIER CEO Rainer Holler. "The highly scalable authensis portfolio therefore perfectly complements our cloud-based communication solutions. It is therefore strategically only logical to integrate authensis into VIER!"

"We are very proud to become part of VIER's success story," comments authensis CEO Stephan Schopf. "Our customers are specifically looking for future-proof AI extensions for their existing on-premise solutions and VIER is exactly the right provider. I was also immediately impressed by the employee atmosphere at VIER," says Schopf.

Olav Vier Strawe, founder and shareholder of VIER, sees the acquisition as a further step towards expanding its leading position on the European market: "With our eighth company acquisition, we want to develop a powerful international competitor by consolidating the German contact center market. The declining confidence of many companies in American public cloud providers confirms that we are optimally serving the requirements of the market with this strategy and our legally compliant AI products."

Rainer Holler concludes: "In the face of geopolitical tensions, the focus on German data storage is becoming a clear competitive advantage. The current US government and its tech policy are significantly increasing the importance of IT and data sovereignty. Our offerings for both on-premise and cloud use with an infrastructure in German data centers meet the highest security standards," says Holler. "We are therefore delighted to welcome the authensis employees and Stephan Schopf to the VIER family as a member of the Management Board. We will continue to manage the authensis brand together and are determined to further develop the European market with the impressive portfolio of smart software solutions and further expand our leading role in CX and AI!"
