Private (Automatic) Branch Exchange: PBX or PABX is the term used to describe a telephone system. It connects several terminals (such as telephones, fax, answering machines, etc.) with each other and with the public telephone network (PSTN). Telephone systems based on Voice over IP (VoIP) are called IP PBX.
