The modern customer expects immediate service around the clock with high service quality on a "human level". The use of AI enables permanent availability and fast response times without increasing the workload of service employees. However, commercially available AI systems often fail to understand complex, different and sometimes incorrectly formulated statements.
Our technology unites the advantages of constant accessibility with the superiority of human understanding.
We use current research results of the cognitive sciences (psychology, computational linguistics, brain research) and implement a semantic approach with our technology.

Semantic analysis is a methodology of linguistics and deals with the content-related meaning of language or text. Besides the actual meaning of the word to be analyzed, the context has a great influence on the interpretation of statements.
Take, for example, the word "fall", whose meaning varies greatly from statement to statement depending on the context:
To fall in the sense of: to become lower in degree or level
To fall in the sense of: to have a certain or proper position, place, or station.
To fall in the sense of: to leave an erect position suddenly and involuntarily
To fall in the sense of: to move or extend in a downward direction.
To fall in the sense of: to take place at a certain time, at a certain point in time, to be
To fall in the sense of: to pass suddenly and passively into a state of body or mind or a new state or condition
To fall in the sense of: to come within the limits, scope, or jurisdiction of something
The patented semantic NLU engine is able to distinguish and understand the different meanings of phrases by emulating human mental semantics.
Like humans, our NLU engine has an extensive knowledge base. It is a knowledge representation that goes far beyond classical ontologies.
The NLU engine is able to link all terms of a sentence.
At the same time, disambiguation of the terms of a phrase occurs, resulting in unambiguous understanding of the meaning of sentences.
The patented method of text analysis (EU patent EP 1 599 866, US patent US 8 495 859) is based on a cognitive, semantic process, which is modeled on the human process of language comprehension. The CES Engine (Cognitive Ergonomic System) used enables the meaning of words and the sense of the text to be understood.
The CES Platform for semantic processing of natural language texts consists of two environments, the CES Mentor and CES Live.
The CES Mentor contains everything related to knowledge management and administration. The CES Knowledgebase is the central knowledge database and is composed of general and industry-specific knowledge. It serves as a basis and can be extended by a customer-specific knowledge database. Construction, maintenance and quality assurance of the knowledge database are carried out in CES Mentor and via the CES Knowledge Manager, a web-based tool for editing the data.
The CES Live environment contains the actual CES Engines and the currently available CES Knowledge Databases, as well as the CES Monitor for reporting and the CES Data Modules, which can be used to connect the CES Engine to customer-specific databases.
The CES Platform is available on-premise and the CES Mentor as SaaS (Software as a Service), bundled as VIER Semantic Intelligence.
