01801 to 01805 service hotlines

With cost-sharing VIER service numbers from 01801 to 01805 you can use location-independent hotline prefixes. 0180 numbers also reduce connection costs: the caller pays part of the cost. Shared-cost numbers are therefore well suited for information hotlines. In addition to 01801, 01802, 01803, 01804 and 01805, VIER also offers the service numbers 01806 and 01807, which make it particularly easy to implement the legal requirements for free waiting loops on chargeable hotlines.


0180 costs for callers

In the German fixed network:

  • 01801: 3.9 cents per min.*

  • 01802: 6 cents per call*

  • 01803: 9 cents per min.*

  • 01804: 20 cents per call*

  • 01805: 14 cents per min.*

* in the German mobile network max. 42 cents per min.

0180 - free of charge waiting fields

According to the TKG, waiting fields for chargeable service numbers such as 0180 (1-5) must remain free of charge. This applies to waiting times before the start of the call as well as to downstream waiting fields, e.g., due to queries or forwarding. Chargeable waiting beyond the first 120 seconds is not permitted! These solutions are available:

  • Delayed Connect (the first 120 seconds of waiting time remain free of charge)

  • Convenience functions such as callback, naming of an alternative number, prioritisation for redialling

  • Guided Transfer & Consultation with VIER Multichannel ACD: In the event of queries, the employee adds a second employee to the call as a three-party conference, without putting the caller on hold. The processing of the customer's request must be continued.

  • Use of other numbers such as geographical service numbers with area codes or 0800 numbers
